In Manila’s slums, best friends Kyrie and Joy grew up begging on the streets to survive, but they never let that define them. These 9th graders lean on each other through every challenge, always reminding one another how blessed they are to be in school. In Panchkhal, we held a two-day reproductive and mental health camp for 607 women, many facing stigma and lacking access to care. With support from local authorities, women received cervical cancer screenings, gynecological checkups, mental health assessments, free meds, and referrals for surgery. For many, this marked their first chance to prioritize their health, and their smiles and relief reminded us why health equity in rural Nepal matters.
