And that’s a wrap on our 2024-2025 Youth Organizer Training Program! We hosted our final retreat in partnership with @outrightvt at Camp Sunrise. We connected, reflected, and celebrated. It’s been a tough year, but this group gave us hope for a brighter future! Applications are open for the 2025-2026 Youth Organizer Training Program. Do you know someone entering 7th-12th grade in Vermont who would enjoy spending a few weekends during the school year getting paid to build organizing skills and discuss social justice issues? The Youth Organizer Training Program is for Vermont students going into 7th-12th grade who are interested in organizing for social justice. We are inviting the community to nominate youth for the program. Education Justice Coalition of Vermont Promoting justice for ALL students in Vermont schools We are a statewide coalition led by a multicultural and multigenerational group including people of color from various racial and ethnic groups antipoverty disability rights and LGBTQIA advocates elders students parents educators and organizations. We envision collective liberation for all people and a state in which Indigenous Black People of Color Disability Immigrant and LGBTQIA peoples can thrive in a culture of belonging that is free of bias discrimination and oppression. We promote justice for all students in the Vermont education system through organizing building community power and developing and promoting Ethnic studies Disability studies Native American Studies and LGBTQIA curriculum and pedagogy.
