We envision collective liberation for all people and a state in which Indigenous Black People of Color Disability Immigrant and LGBTQIA peoples can thrive in a culture of belonging that is free of bias discrimination and oppression. We promote justice for all students in the Vermont education system through organizing building community power and developing and promoting Ethnic studies Disability studies Native American Studies and LGBTQIA curriculum and pedagogy. EDUCATION JUSTICE COALITION OF VT
This fall the Vermont Agency of Education is re-writing their official Hazing, Harassment, and Bullying Policy, a key policy that is meant to support youth who experience harm. They have not provided student and family centered opportunities to give feedback. We know the current policy is not meeting our needs in responding to harm in schools.
