Strategic Advocacy for Human Rights - SAHR SAHR SAHR SAHR Resourcing women and diverse leaders to shape and transform laws and policies that protect survivors and end Sexual and Genderbased Violence SGBV. We wish to see a world where the everyday activist can be a law or policymaker. Sexual and GenderBased Violence SGBV is the most pressing human rights issue of our time. Vision We envision a world where women and diverse leaders especially those from underrepresented communities have the power and responsibility to shape decisionmaking processes and systems in their countries driving the transformation needed to end Sexual and GenderBased Violence SGBV.

We are thrilled to share a proud moment with our community. 🎉 Our Legal and Program Officer, @catalinadominguezf, was recently invited by the Law Program of Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali, her hometown in Colombia, to speak about her professional journey, her experience as a Javeriana lawyer, and her leadership both in the public sector back home and now at SAHR. During her visit, Catalina engaged with students across different semesters, reflecting on the value of academic opportunities, the importance of staying grounded and intentional, and what it means to build a legal career abroad, embracing all the challenges and growth that come with it.

📣Excited to share that Catalina’s thesis on Child Marriage has been published in the Panorama Javeriano magazine in Colombia. Titled “Child Marriage and Gender-Based Violence: An Approach to a Sexist and Patriarchal Society that Conceals Its Perpetrators”, the article sheds light on child marriage as a form of gender-based violence deeply embedded in patriarchal and machista societies. It explores how this practice not only violates the rights of girls, but is also perpetuated by cultural, religious, and economic systems that enable impunity.
