GOMEZ is a mini gelding who is ready to be your next in-hand trail partner. He'd also be happy to just be your buddy. He is curious and friendly. Gomez is current on hoof care, deworming and vet care. Our vet tested him for Cushings and he is NEGATIVE...which is great news. Gomez had some previous hoof neglect (or had possibly been trimmed by a less knowledgeable farrier) before coming to our rescue and shows evidence of previous laminitis. He has left those days behind him and is on the road to recovery. Our vet did x-rays and worked with a skilled farrier and believes that with nutritional management and consistent hoof care, Gomez will be completely fine without any medications. His teeth are quite worn and so he may eventually need senior feed. For now our vet has recommended hay and a ration balancer in addition to managed time on grass pasture. Gomez won't be placed for riding given his age, size and previous neglect.
