The Lunchbowl Network, support the education for the most vulnerable children from Kibera in Nairobi. The Brothers Trust have been supporting them since 2017 and have given £323,700 in grants during this time. This has helped to fund; • 2 school buses that have taken multiple busloads, totalling 440 children, everyday to school. • 6 educational smart boards • Upgraded the boys kindergarten toilets • Provided an Astroturf play area to benefit a kindergarten of 100 young children and a class of 23 children with Special Educational Needs. • 100 tables and chairs for a homework hub • Sports kits for over 300 children School uniform for over 500 children. • 220 children joining a reputable primary school, paying for the school desks, chairs, uniforms and stationary • A unit for 19 hearing impaired children which included a speech and language therapist, audiology checks and a Kenyan Sign Language parent support group In addition during times of emergency, the funds have, provided blankets for 100 displaced families and a soup kitchen for those affected by a fire. During Covid they funded food packs and home learning materials as well as salaries for over 23 staff members.
