How far would you travel to die on your own terms? When Jerilyn Hansen died in late March, surrounded by her husband, daughter, and messages of love from friends, she was 3,000 miles from home. Instead of spending her final moments in her Catskills home, Jerilyn died in a stranger’s house in Portland, Oregon. No one should have to leave home to die with dignity. Yet for some, this is still the reality.
