SCA congratulates two representatives from our seven-county region, Jasper County Administrator Andy Fulghum and Colleton County Councilman Phillip Taylor, for their recent graduation from the South Carolina Ports Authority's 2024-2025 Port Ambassador Program! The year-long Port Ambassador Program immerses participants in port operations through educational sessions and tours of oceanside terminals, inland ports, and advanced manufacturers around the state, giving them a first-hand look at how port operations drive an $87 billion statewide economic impact each year. Many prospective industries are interested in our region because of our excellent proximity to the Ports of Charleston and Savannah, as many of our industrial sites are within a one-hour drive of the Port of Charleston and within a 15-minute drive of the Port of Savannah.
