CPLC ACTION FUND
The undermining of constitutionally protected civil liberties that unjustly targets the Latino community cannot go unchallenged and without objection. Chicanos Por La Causa joins in the outrage over the Supreme Court 6-3 decision to lift a lower court order that temporarily halted federal agents from enforcing immigration operations based solely on factors such as race, job, location, or the language spoken. Perhaps Justice Sonia Sotomayor said it best: "We should not have to live in a country where the Government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low wage job.
