Friends, it is with ALL the emotions in our hearts that NEW announces a meaningful leadership transition: Yodit Mesfin Johnson, President and CEO, will step down from her role on June 30, 2025 (06/30/25). After seventeen (17) years of service - including five (5) as our visionary CEO - Yodit will transition into a new role as Executive in Residence following a brief sabbatical. In this capacity, she will continue to support the organization through January 2026, focusing on consulting partnerships, implementation of NEW’s sociocratic governance model, and CEO transition support.

Nonprofit Network: Human Resources and Policy Basics Thursday, June 12 1:00 – 3:30pm This session will discuss how to develop and sustain a culture in which your team and organization can thrive in addition to staying legally compliant with basic federal and state regulations and trends, changes, and the current best practices will be discussed. If you are not employing paid staff, these same tenets, and tools work with volunteers. Being good leaders, a good boss - a good employer - is a critical component to a nonprofit's sustainability.
