✨🍸 THE VIP RECEPTION 🍸✨ On April 30th, Intact America kicked off the inaugural Skin in the Game Award with an intimate VIP Reception. Host Committee members and their guests gathered for a pre-ceremony cocktail hour with Alan Cumming — a time filled with heartfelt conversations, laughter, and shared purpose. During the reception, Georganne Chapin, Executive Director of Intact America, shared an observation with Alan: many people who oppose circumcision hesitate to speak out, fearing judgment—even from friends or family. She asked if, over the decades he’s spoken against the practice, he’s ever paid a personal or professional price. Alan responded with characteristic grace. He said he doesn’t mind making people uncomfortable if it gets them to think in new ways, and that he prefers to keep conversations light, using warmth and curiosity to help others consider his point of view. When asked how he has skin in the game, Alan replied that, aside from the obvious — that he has an intact foreskin — he feels a deep responsibility to educate and inform Americans, most of whom are unfamiliar with the, "pleasures of an intact penis!" Alan has a rare gift for speaking truth with charm, compassion, and ease. It's a quality we can all learn from as we work to bring this pro-foreskin, anti-circumcision conversation further into the light.
