MMA Fellowship of Christian Athletic Ministry NEWS! MMA Fellowship of Christian Athletic Ministry Conducted an end of school year celebration this past evening. MMA Chaplain Adan Trevino organized the event as a reward for participation and recognition for member efforts towards leadership and spiritual growth. Chaplain Trevino is man of many talents who eagerly accepts a variety of responsibilities. Presently, he’s a First Lieutenant in the Texas State Guard, along with serving as the MMA Chaplain, Athletic Director, and Admissions Recruiter. And he somehow finds time to be a family man! Many young men today lack clarity about what it truly means to be a man and leader. As a result, many are confused about their role as a man in our society. They end up disappointed, and find themselves drifting without purpose, and instead focus on following the crowd. Our goal is to educate and instill within the boys a sense of scripturally based importance of leadership. Much of this involves acceptance and authenticity over ongoing competitions. We want each young man to flourish in discovering more about himself and his strengths and talents, while learning to shed the stereotypes of whimsical culture. Authentic Manhood! The all-important pizza and wings pickup and delivery was expertly handled by a group of what appeared to be hungry young Cadets. Opening prayer was led by Cadet Malcolm, after which the boys lined up for a fair-share portion of pizza and wings. Photos indicate a happy group of boys sharing in the love of pizza and brotherhood. Wow! NO ONE went away hungry! Upon completion of dinner, an awards coin ceremony was conducted to recognize those boys who completed The Six Sets of 33, a Bible study program. This was followed by an inspirational movie; “Show Me The Father.” Student leaders within the ministry – Cadet’s Ruf, Michel, Malcolm, Jackson, Mairie, Lawson, Nesslein, and Mason. These boys led the group this year with impressive examples of respect and leadership. Chaplain Trevino Says: I would like to thank parents who have prayed for our ministry and provided donations.
