Point Pleasant
9-1-1 Response PPPEMS was formed by the merger of the Point Pleasant (originally founded in 1975) and Plumsteadville Ambulance Corps (originally founded in 1957) on January 1, 1998. We are an EMS unit run primarily by volunteers seeking to give something back to our communities in and around Plumstead Township, Pennsylvania. We continued our predecessor organizations' basic level of care (BLS) until in July 2000, when we were officially licensed by the PA Dept. of Health to additionally provide Advanced Life Support (ALS). We are one of a decreasing number of EMS units run by volunteers who value patient care above profit in an era when health-care costs, including Emergency care, are skyrocketing.
