On June 2, 2025, International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) and LBH APIK Jakarta, with the support of the European Union under the Bridging the Justice Gap Project, officially opened the two-day National Networking Forum in Surabaya. The forum convened key justice sector stakeholders from across Indonesia to strengthen collaboration and promote systematic early access to justice for all, in particular for women. The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Women Empowerment, the Supreme Court, the Attorney General’s Office, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, the Witness and Victims Protection Agency (LPSK), and the National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan). The forum brought together participants, including 15 JusticeMakers Fellows and key representatives from justice institutions from across Indonesia, representing a wide range of provinces and regions. These included Bali; Batam in the Riau Islands (Sumatra); Padang and Pasaman in West Sumatra (Sumatra); Bogor in West Java; Gowa Regency and Makassar in South Sulawesi; Jayapura and Keerom Regencies in Papua; Jember Regency, Jombang, and Surabaya in East Java; Kupang in East Nusa Tenggara; Semarang in Central Java; and Yogyakarta in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This diverse representation underscored the national scope of the effort to promote systematic early access to justice for all, particularly for women. (fb)
