Henricus Historical Park will be open Memorial Day weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for anyone looking to get outside over the holiday! When making plans, remember that Henricus is thrilled to belong to the Blue Star Museum and Museums for All programs. Blue Star Museums is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families that offers free admission to active-duty military and their families. Museums for All, offered through the Institute of Museum and Library Services, allows families receiving food assistance to have free admission to visit museums and historic sites, where often admission costs can be a barrier. Camp Wingapo 📆June 24-26 📌Ages 6-9 Learn about the Powhatan people through storytelling, hands-on activities like canoe scraping, cooking, and crafts, and exploring the re-created Arrohateck village. James River Camp 📆July 29-31 📌Ages 9-12 Campers will discover the environmental and geological features of the historic James River and learn how the Powhatan and English colonists would have utilized the waterway, conduct science experiments, and take a kayak expedition through the Dutch Gap.
