Introducing The Emet Project Emet Tauber was a Rabbi, activist, teacher, friend, and a dedicated NCIL Board Member. Emet passed away in 2019. He was 24 years old. He is deeply missed. Emet’s hospice room was a cross-disability space. The Emet Project is a new website intended to recreate the atmosphere of Emet’s hospice room. The website invites people to “Come visit Emet. Sit down and watch an interview and you will feel as if you are talking to a friend, just as we were.” Noah Strauss is one of the creators of the Emet Project. “This project is modeled on Crip Camp, a story of our movement ancestors. Crip Camp is the story of Jewish young disabled friends, children of Holocaust survivors, organizing to found NCIL and to pass Section 504, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Crip Camp was released on March 25, 2020, Emet’s first yahrzeit,” said Noah. The Emet Project can be found at: https://www.emetproject.org/ Note: A yahrzeit is the anniversary of the death of a loved one. It's a time for remembrance, reflection, and honoring the person's memory. (fb)
