Starting soon, the City of Erie’s Code Enforcement Department will begin targeted inspections for excessive trash and debris in the Our West Bayfront neighborhoods. If a property has a large collection of debris or trash in the yard, the owner will be given a notice and have 14 days the address the issue. If the debris has not been removed at the end of that 14-day period an abatement fee of $1,400 will be issued. If you have debris in your yard, the City of Erie will pick up 3 large items per week as a free service to city residents. Collection is limited to regular household trash (Ex. a couch, chair, mattress, lamp, table, dresser, etc.).
