Follow Message Edit

Chiku Awali's mission is to spark everyone’s creative spirit to dance, drum, and dream, one step, one sound, and one story at a time. We offer, promote, and encourage civic and cultural programs and activities that are representative of African dance, music, and culture. We participate with other civic and community organizations that seek to educate, enrich, and enlighten people, particularly youth, about the richness of African and African American Diaspora cultures. Chiku Awali does this through its African dance and drumming classes and performances in and for the community; and through its youth-based educational workshops, activities, and field trips.
