The school year is wrapping up, and we are beginning to look forward to all that Summer Camp 2025 has in store! What better way to look towards the upcoming season than to reflect on all that the Lord has done in the over 30 years that Camp Highland has been serving campers and families. 
 Our founder, Bill Chapman, has walked alongside camp through every stage— from its early days in Lula, Georgia, to its permanent home in Ellijay. His prayer for campers and staff this summer is that, throughout all the things that are hard in our lives, we would have the courage to find a refuge in Christ. God is our refuge in times of trouble and challenge, and finding comfort and safety in him in the midst of a broken world is the best thing we can do.  To everyone who drives through our gates this summer, Bill’s prayer is that you feel loved. When it comes to the way that we serve our campers and families, it is not a game nor is it a business. It is an opportunity to walk alongside and disciple your heart. It is a chance to enable you to live in a way where you can experience Christ in an authentic way that can be life changing. Our hope is that when you walk into camp you can feel God’s presence and know that Camp Highland is different and truly something special.  For someone who is thinking about applying to work at camp this summer, Bill’s advice to you is this: As much as camp needs you, you need camp. What you may think is giving away a month or two of your summer, you are actually gaining back immeasurably more—in lifelong friendships, deeper understanding of the gospel, and a richer, more joyful life in Christ. Countless college students have shared how deeply their lives have been enriched by their summer at camp. There’s a level of care and friendship and love that you can offer that someone needs, and there are so many things that camp offers that cannot be quantified by a job application – you should come and see for yourself!
