Our mission at Hawkins Horse Haven, is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, neglected, abandoned, and unwanted American horses, in addition to saving them from being sent for slaughtered in foreign countries. We provide medical care to these horses, which are often in poor health. Our organization works diligently identifying and saving horses that are only days, or even hours, from being shipped out of America for slaughter. We provide screening of all adoptive applicants to assure that the suitable companion is placed with the appropriate family.​
