Overview

The Association of Certified Knowledge Management Professionals (ACKMP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting global standardization in Knowledge Management (KM) practices. As a 501(c)(3) approved entity, it focuses on credentialing various KM professionals, including KM Auditors, KM Technicians, and KM Specialists, under the oversight of The Certification Board of Regents (CBOR).

Mission and Objectives

ACKMP's primary mission is to establish and promote universal standards within the KM profession. This involves providing certification, training, and continuous education to its members. The organization adheres to ISO 30401:2018 for its certifications and is ISO 9001:2015 certified, ensuring compliance with international quality management standards.

ACKMP's objectives include:

• Promoting Global Standards: Enhancing the global consistency and effectiveness of Knowledge Management practices.
• Education and Certification: Offering credentials such as Certified Professional Knowledge Manager (CPKM), Certified Knowledge Management Auditor (CKMA), Certified Knowledge Management Engineer (CKME), and Certified Knowledge Management Specialist (CKMS).
• Intellectual Property Protection: Raising awareness about Intellectual Property (IP) protection globally.
• Community Support: Providing scholarships to students interested in pursuing studies in Business and Knowledge Management, and supporting U.S. Military veterans through its Military Transition Program.

Membership and Structure

ACKMP has two primary categories of members: Certified Members and Non-Certified Members. Certified members have obtained official designations through rigorous examinations and are entitled to full membership benefits. Non-Certified members include students, professionals, and corporate entities, who do not have voting rights but can nominate officers to the Board of Regents.
