MES was founded in 1939 to protect and promote the profession of engineering as a social and economic influence vital to society. THE ORGANIZATION PROTECTS AND PROMOTES THE PROFESSION OF ENGINEERING AS A SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC INFLUENCE VITAL TO THE AFFAIRS OF SOCIETY AND THE UNITED STATES.
