Western Pennsylvania Slovak Cultural Association WPSCA Did you know that Metropolitan Pittsburgh has more people of Slovak heritage than any city in the world outside of Slovakia. Because of the heavy concentration of Slovak Americans in the area the Slovak Embassy opened an Honorary Consulate in Pittsburgh in 1997. That same year Slovak Honorary Consul Joseph Senko formed a nonprofit organization the Western Pennsylvania Slovak Cultural Association WPSCA to bring diverse authentic Slovak Cultural programs to Western Pennsylvania not only for SlovakAmericans but also for the entire public to enjoy. The WPSCA sponsors annual Consular Tours to Slovakia Slovak Language Classes popular Heritage Meetings Wine and Beer Tastings Summer Camp for Kids and an annual Scholarship for Summer Study at Comenius University in Bratislava.
