The goal of Rocky Mountain Special Hockey is to give people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD or developmental disability) the chance to play the sport of ice hockey in an environment which is adapted to the level of ability at which the athletes are able to participate. Rocky Mountain Special Hockey exists for the enrichment of the athlete with an intellectual/ developmental disability. In addition to physical hockey skills, the program emphasizes developing a sense of team that involves development of desirable characteristics such as commitment, dependability, responsibility and caring about and for others.
