HCC works collaboratively to create positive change and provide needed programs to address healthy food and wellness, also raise capital for building a facility to house a community co-op for a food market, fuel station, community kitchen, and office space for project development and implementation, record keeping, and events. Currently, volunteers promote and oversee activities such as art and music, environmentla education, a sustainable living education center, and local food production. HCC serves adults and children in about 43% of the 5,300 householods here; many at or below the poverty level. There are no paid staff.
