A Great Start to National Adopt a Cat Month! Lovely Izzy was a stray that was brought to MWHS in February 2024. She was pregnant, so she immediately went to live with our foster, Cristin. Izzy gave birth to 5 handsome male kittens, and all of them have since been adopted. Izzy, however, was very shy and frightened of people, so Cristin has been working with Izzy to build her confidence and trust in humans. Izzy has come a long way but is still shy, but happy in her foster home. She absolutely loves Cristin’s male cat Enzo, and Cristin and her husband love Izzy…so the obvious thing to do was to officially adopt Izzy! Thank you, Cristin, for your love and patience and for giving precious Izzy the home she truly deserves. Yet another foster fortune, and we couldn’t be happier!! Milo was a stray singleton kitten that came to MWHS in late April. He is now 5 months old, and is a very outgoing, sweet, playful, silly kitten. He hated being alone and liked to chew on fingers, as single kittens often do. So, into foster he went for some “charm schooling”. Shy Sunny and his mom, Hunny, were strays that were trapped and brought to the shelter in January. Hunny was adopted quickly, and Sunny went into “foster to adopt” to be friends with the adopter’s 4-year-old cat. Sadly, the resident cat didn’t find Sunny a suitable companion, so Sunny was then placed in foster with Milo. Apparently, the second time really is the charm because Milo and Sunny are now bestest of buddies! Kristen and Liam were looking for a pair of kittens and once they met Milo and Sunny, even though Sunny is still shy with new people, they knew these were the sweet kittens they had been looking for! Thank you, Kristen and Liam, for opening your hearts and home to Milo and Sunny. We know they will bring you much love and laughter…and mischief! (fb)

🥳 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲! 🥳 Meet Gus (formerly known as Bubbles), a very handsome 3-year-old boy who was found as a stray. While he was initially shy around humans, Gus experienced a beautiful transformation once he was introduced to other cats. 😻😻 Through playtime with his feline friends—and plenty of gentle affection from his human companions—his personality began to shine! 😽 Gus/Goose, 😹 was lucky enough to find his forever home with Caitlin, Dan, and their furry family member, Buster. 🏘 As you can see from the photos, he’s settled in wonderfully! A big thank you to Caitlin, Dan, and Buster for opening your hearts and home to Gus. 🫶 We truly appreciate the great photos, adorable card, and letter—your Happy Tail brought big smiles to our team! 😁💜 From Caitlin & Dan: “Hi, Thanks so much for checking in! One of things we loved most about working with MWHS was the care you all take for these cats! Attached are some photos & our annual Christmas card (which I design every year to feature the family) along with a letter we mailed to MWHS. Hoping it made it there! Bubbles is now living his best life renamed "Gus" however we tend to stretch that "u" and end up calling him "Goose" more often than not. He's opening up more & more the longer he's been with us. He and Buster (our 5yo shorthair) are still figuring each other out. Not exactly BFFs yet but very cordial around each other - eating together, chasing each other around the house, and occasionally napping next to each other. Gus also sheds more than any cat we've ever met! We brush him pretty much every day and he's still leaving little traces of himself all over the furniture and laundry haha. He really is the sweetest, most gentle guy. We are absolutely in love with him and so glad he came into our lives when he did. PS - He just recently started sleeping by our feet on the bed & running to the door to meet us when we get home. Thank you,” Caitlin & Dan #adoptdontshop #foreverfamily #sheltercatsarethebest (fb)
