What a year! As I close out my term as President of the Houston Lawyers Association, I’m overwhelmed with pride and gratitude. This role has been one of the greatest honors of my career — and I’m thankful for every member, partner, sponsor, and friend who believed in our vision. Together, we made history, built community, and pushed forward with purpose! 📣 United by our theme — “Raising the Bar: Where Excellence Meets Impact” — we turned vision into action and made bold strides in advancing our mission, empowering our members, and uplifting our community. ✨ 2024–2025 Key Highlights: 🎓 Expanded our scholarship program — largest number of recipients and awards in HLA history 👥 Achieved the largest membership in HLA history and introduced three new membership tiers — Pre-Law, Auxiliary, and Lifetime — to better serve our community 🧩 Launched 8 practice area sections to deepen member engagement 🏛️ Hosted HLA Day at the Capitol and advocated for and against bills with a formal legislative agenda — a first in HLA history ⚖️ Established HLA’s first full-service Expunction Clinic — eligibility screening, paperwork filing, and fee coverage 📚 Offered more than twice the State Bar’s required CLE hours, including ethics 🏆 Awarded the Texas Bar College CLE Grant in recognition of advancing continuing legal education Thank you for the opportunity to serve.
