Neighbors to Nicaragua alleviates problems resulting from severe poverty in Granada, Managua, and Ometepe through critical needs and education programming. The mission of Neighbors to Nicaragua is to identify and alleviate problems resulting from severe poverty in Granada, Managua, and Ometepe. We meet the critical needs of our youth and families by providing food, shelter, transportation, clothing, and medical aid and services. We also provide educational programming, supplies, and tuition support and aid the missions of other organizations whose effective work supports our own.

Founded in 2012 Neighbors to Nicaraguas primary work is in Nueva Esperanza a barrio whose name means new hope in one of Nicaraguas poorest areas just south of Granada. Neighbors to Nicaragua takes a grassroots approach to provide education and infrastructure to the communities of Nueva Esperanza and parts of Southern Granada. Education Nutrition Vocational Skills Youth Counseling Our Vision Our vision began in April 2011 when founder Chuck Selvaggio traveled to Granada to study Spanish. The retired teacher from Salesianum School in Wilmington Delaware was disheartened after he met homeless youths.
