The International Children’s Aid Foundation (ICAF) is a non-denominational humanitarian organization founded by Christians who believe in Christ’s command to take His message into the world.  We accomplish this through two primary objectives:  1) helping children and 2) fulfilling medical needs. ICAF currently focuses its work in Romania.To provide for the health, education and development of abandoned and orphaned children through two main missions:1. Operating the Bright Beginnings early-childhood education program.  This program was developed by our volunteer child psychologists and therapists and hires local Romanian educators whom we train in the early-childhood development skills so vital to any child, yet which are unknown in Romania.  Then, at no cost to the state orphanages, we place the educators in these institutions where they teach self-esteem and nurture non-aggressive, psychological and academic developmental skills to the orphans ages birth through five.  We currently have just three educators in one state orphanage and would love to expand the Bright Beginnings program to other state orphanages.2. Operating Casa Emanuel, our Christian-inspired family-group home for up to 20 orphans and nurturing these children by providing for their physical, emotional, spiritual and educational needs until they have graduated from college and are self-sufficient.To provide a medical ministry to developing countries.ICAF secures surplus medications and medical equipment and gives it to qualified doctors and clinics which have a need for, but no access to, such critical supplies. We also encourage healthcare professionals to participate (at their own expense) in our medical mission trips where they offer free medical care at onsite clinics in remote villages that have no medical resources.
