Disaster preparedness, response and recovery through volcano education, monitoring, and resilience network building. HVERI is a nonprofit organization emerging from the 2018 eruption of Kīlauea volcano working towards Volcano Education, Digital Resilience & Youth Development HVERI runs the Hawaii Tracker group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/hawaiitracker Our mission is to improve disaster preparedness, response, and recovery through volcano education and resilience network building, focusing the the island of Hawaii. HVERI operates year-round in either normal mode or disaster mode, with education and information as its primary means to positively impact communities on the Island of Hawaii, especially those most at risk of volcanic impact near the rift zones of Mauna Loa and Kilauea. The end goal is to improve coordination, collaboration, and preparedness in times of crisis, ultimately leading to more effective and efficient response efforts and a faster recovery.

Hawaiian Volcano Education Resilience Institute Home of the Hawaii Tracker Project HVERI works with the Island of Hawaii community including keiki kupuna visitors other stakeholders to improve disaster preparedness response recovery through education monitoring resilience network building youth development. HVERI pronounced Hvery Arising from the Hawaii Tracker Project and the community response to the 2018 Klauea eruption HVERI partners with the County of Hawaii and other local nonprofits to educate and inform residents about volcano science and hazards. We also maintain a digital community invested in disaster response. Concerned about Klauea or Maunaloa still recovering from 2018 or new to the island.
