Historic Scurry County, Inc. is a tax-exempt 501 (c) non-profit charitable organization of volunteers dedicated to keeping a visual record of local and west Texas history and telling the story of Scurry county. The Heritage Village preserves historic structures to give visitors a window into history, and to vividly educate others, particularly school children, about the past. We have no paid staff, and all our work is done by volunteers. We follow a three-pronged approach to preserving historically important buildings: renovation, restoration, and preservation. We have assembled and maintain a group of eight historic buildings, two replica buildings, and dozens of relevant artifacts in the Heritage Village.
