Hilltop Nursery School is a parent-participation cooperative preschool founded in 1951. Parents and staff have worked hard to meet the changing needs of the family and to provide quality, professional early childhood education. Hilltop Nursery School (“Hilltop”) is a 501 (c)(3), nonprofit parent cooperative child care and family development center. Since our inception in 1951, Hilltop’s mission has been to provide affordable, high-quality child care and familial support to the ethnically and economically diverse communities of northeastern Los Angeles regardless of their capacity to pay full tuition. Our “mixed income” model is central to our philosophy of promoting respect, community building and understanding and gives access to benefit from our high-quality program.

Hilltop Nursery School Inc
For more than 60 years, Hilltop Nursery School has provided high quality, early childhood education and familial support to the diverse community of families in the Silverlake, Echo Park and East Hollywood areas. Our mission is to make our program available to all residents in our community, regardless of their capacity to pay full tuition. Each year, Hilltop strives to ensure that at least 25% of our enrollment consists of students who are in the poverty-level to moderate-income scale, and we subsidize their education with monies that we raise through our fundraising events.
