Today, we had the privilege of honoring Veterans with service pins during our Memorial Day Ceremony. This moment of gratitude recognized their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to our country. We thank them — and all who have served — for protecting the freedoms we hold dear. (fb)

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Memorial Day Flag Ceremony, to remember and honor those who answered the call to defend our nation, and in doing so, made the greatest sacrifice of all. Special guests involved in the time of remembrance included Erie County American Legion Commander Paul Wackowski, Vice Commander Jerry Kowalski, Past Commander Ted Balbierz, Commander Tony Deaville and the Cadets from the WNY Maritime Charter School, and New York Army National Guardsman Frank Militello, a Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo Volunteer. And a special thank you to our volunteer musicians, pianist, Doug Pies and bugler, Bob Stewart. It is with gratitude that we take a moment to pause and reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day.
