Founded in 1955, East Texas Youth Orchestra (ETYO) provides exceptional musical experiences through arts education in East Texas and beyond. The East Texas Youth Orchestra is open to all string, woodwind, brass, and percussion students, up to the age of 22. ETYO is the premier, youth music training program of East Texas. The mission of the East Texas Youth Orchestra, Inc. (ETYO), is to provide exceptional musical experiences in arts education through a diverse set of programs providing performances that enrich its members and the community. Through its two major ensembles, the Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonic Orchestra, ETYO accomplishes this mission by meeting the following objectives: Education, Experience, Encouragement, Excellence, Enrichment, Enjoyment.
