D2R creates, promotes, and leads veteran outdoor adventure, recreation, and fitness activities. Disconnect to Reconnect (D2R) is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit currently based in Northern California, and founded by combat veterans that understand the importance of disconnecting from our everyday lives and reconnecting with nature, ourselves, and other veterans. D2R is designed to help veterans reconnect with themselves through outdoor adventure, recreation, and fitness activities. D2R creates, promotes, and leads outdoor activities that foster a safe place to find themselves again alongside their peers. Research has shown a strong connection between time spent with peers in nature and reduced stress, anxiety, and depression. We believe veterans deserve a fun and engaging peer support system that can provide stability and recovery for those who have gone through the same struggles.
