Trinity Group Homes Inc
Trinity Group Homes’ goal is to ensure that adults with a severe and persistent mental illness have safe affordable housing in a supportive environment. Our mission is to provide caring, community-supported housing for adults with mental illness with programs that teach life skill to our residents. Trinity Group Homes maintains four (4) homes in Kootenai County, with the capacity to serve and house 17 residents. There is a severe shortage of affordable housing for this vulnerable population. Trinity Group Homes was started in 1979, by volunteers who saw a necessity for needed housing and supportive services for this population within the five (5) northern counties of Idaho. The Board of Directors is actively involved in our fundraising efforts to support our programs. Our goal is to assist residents in becoming independent and confident in their own abilities to live out in the community. While they reside at Trinity Group Homes, they learn basic living skills, teamwork, by doing chores, and becoming more involved in advocating for themselves as well as for others in recovery from a persistent mental illness. In April, the Board approved issuing a Request for Proposal to multiple contractors to provide the land and construct a new eight bedroom duplex for residents in Post Falls. Bids are due May 14, 2012 and ground breaking is planned for July 1, 2012. Occupancy is scheduled September 30, 2012. When completed Trinity will serve 25 individuals.
