SeniorNet is based on the belief that computer and technology literacy will not only enable older adults to access a world of information and people, it will also allow them to share their wisdom and knowledge with the rest of the world. Started in 1986, SeniorNet has grown into a million dollar nonprofit organization that has taught over 200,000 older adults to use computers and the Internet. With a nationwide network of nearly 100 locally run computer Learning Centers, several thriving on-line communities (www.SeniorNet.org), and a range of educational publications. SeniorNet provides opportunities for life-long learning, community and volunteering to an older adult population that has often been marginalized by the technology revolution.
