Sheriff's Toy Project - Assisting Families in Need

The Sheriff's Toy Project functions as a charitable arm of the Sacramento Sheriff's Department wherein participants of the Sheriff's Work Project spend their court ordered jail sentence making toys and refurbishing donated bicycles. Through partnerships with organizations such as YES (Youth Education Sports) and the Salvation Army, we distribute toys, bicycles and other items to children in need throughout the Sacramento region, including donations to the Mustard Seed School, a school for homeless children. The Sheriff's Toy Project also serves as a local outreach program between the Sacramento County Sheriff department and our community and provides significant relief to an overcrowded jail system, which also reduces cost for the citizens of Sacramento County.

Toy Project serves to assist local families in need throughout the year by partnering with businesses and those capable of giving. Toy Project repairs and refurbishes bicycles that have been donated. With a wellequipped woodshop the Toy Project is able to build a variety of projects that are raffled and donated. The Toy Project uses a 4head embroidery machine which produces all the shirts for the Sheriffs Department and other nonprofits.
