Community Libraries of Malawi

Follow Message Edit

COLIMA is solely dedicated to fundraising for Kwakupokela Education Trust (KET) and its Community Library in the village of Lusangazi, Mzuzu, Malawi. 100% of funds are used for the purchase of books, library expenses, wages, and building improvements. COLIMA would like to raise enough funds to help open additional community libraries in Malawi, using KET as an example of sustainability, community-level ownership and the benefits of providing educational resources to rural communities in Malawi.

Community Libraries of Malawi Find us here. COLIMA Community Libraries of Malawi began as a fundraising effort to rebuildreopen the Kwakupokela Community Library in Northern Malawi. The library reopened its doors in 2018 and was fully embraced by its community. That location is now operated by the neighboring Day School and so we moved our Community Library location in 2024 to the nearby community of Lukalazi in the previously shuttered Mary Martha Library.
