CSEA Local 1000 leaders and health care workers from New York’s 24th Congressional District held a press conference today highlighting how MILLIONS of working families will suffer if Congress moves forward with a plan to cut public services to pay for billionaire tax cuts. In NY-24, the consequences of the budget cuts will place essential programs such as Medicaid on the chopping block, which hospitals, nursing homes and other critical health care services rely on. In addition, cuts will impact the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), putting nearly 670,000 New Yorkers at risk of losing food assistance through the program, including 19,000 people represented by Rep.
