The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Brentwood (CSJ) have been a presence in New York City and Long Island since 1856. With over 300 sisters and nearly 300 dedicated lay associates and partners in mission, the CSJ community is dedicated to the mission of fostering love, unity, and reconciliation among all people. Present in schools, universities, hospitals, childcare facilities, social service agencies, and prisons since 1856, the congregation's efforts are guided by and reflect our mission, which follows below. Empowered by God's love, rooted in the Gospel of Jesus, and faithful to the vision of one sacred Earth community, we live and work to bring all into union with God and one another.
