Evanston Grows

Follow Message Edit

Evanston Grows is a collaborative non-profit organization whose mission is to increase healthy food access, promote food literacy, and advance health equity by building a local fresh food system that is more just, sustainable and resilient. We do this by growing organic produce on urban farms and gardens throughout Evanston, produce that we then share with those in need at farm stands, food pantries and distribution points located in our most underserved neighborhoods. We also offer free, year-round educational programs that provide more information about how to grow, access, prepare, and store healthy food, and about the importance of eating fresh produce as part of a healthy diet. Finally, we develop workforce opportunities with our formal urban agriculture certificate program.
