The Savage Club of Ithaca Inc. is a nonprofit charitable organization based in Ithaca, New York. It was formed in 1895, following a visit by members of the Cornell Banjo, Mandolin and Glee Clubs to London, where they were supported by The Savage Club of London, a prominent literary and arts gentlemen's club. This encounter led to the establishment of the Ithaca chapter, which has since become a significant cultural entity in the region.

Mission and Activities

The Savage Club of Ithaca's mission is to cultivate a lifelong pursuit and enjoyment of the arts, particularly through music and the performing arts. The organization hosts various events and performances, including annual concerts and revues, and participates in community activities such as the Ithaca Festival parade. They have formed several musical groups, including a men's chorale, a jazz band, a folk band, and a rock and roll band known as "The Tarps."

In 2021, the Savage Club of Ithaca moved into its new headquarters in Lansing, New York, located in a former church building. This space serves as both a clubhouse and a community resource, offering two main spaces: a basement meeting room and the former sanctuary on the first floor. Both areas are available for use by nonprofit groups and small performance ensembles for rehearsals and performances.
