After his son Noah was murdered during the Sandy Hook School massacre, Lenny Pozner and his family became the target of an unrelenting campaign of harassment and abuse by conspiracy theorists who used social media to torment, hunt, and abuse the family. The initial goal of the HONR Network was to end the harassment and intentional torment, not only of Pozner and his family, but of survivors and the families of victims of all mass casualty incidents and high-profile crimes, who suffered additional anguish after being targeted by online. The mission has evolved further to provide guidance and a network of support for all affected by online harassment, to educate, and to advocate for policy changes.
