Red Hook Community Business Alliance

The Red Hook Community Business Alliance, also referred to as the Red Hook Business Alliance, is a nonprofit organization founded in 2019 to represent and support the diverse business community within the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. It was co-founded by Susan Povich and Victoria Alexander, with Carly Baker-Rice serving as its Program Manager and Executive Director.

Mission and Purpose

The Alliance's mission is to ensure the economic vitality of the Red Hook community and preserve one of New York City's most dynamic and unique waterfront neighborhoods. This is achieved through the sharing of resources, development of strategies to improve local business conditions, and production of marketing events that highlight the community's assets[1][3].

Activities and Events

One of the key initiatives organized by the Alliance is the Red Hook Holiday Market, held in collaboration with the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC). This event serves as a platform for local businesses, including manufacturers, retailers, restaurants, artists, and freelancers, to showcase their products and services. The market aims to increase community engagement and support local commerce by bringing foot traffic to the area[2].

The Alliance also maintains community and events calendars to centralize information about local activities such as music performances, art openings, public meetings, and library offerings[3].

Membership and Community Engagement

The organization invites business owners, freelancers, nonprofit leaders, and artists from Red Hook to engage with its activities. Residents can participate through volunteer opportunities focused on improving the neighborhood environment[3].

The Red Hook Community Business Alliance operates under the Employer Identification Number (EIN) 88-1472299[5].
