Elpida Ministries

Overview

Elpida Ministries is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving single mothers and children, primarily in Mityana, Uganda. The organization was founded by Abraham Kawuma and Connor Murtha, with a shared vision to improve lives emotionally, educationally, economically, and spiritually.

Mission

The mission of Elpida Ministries is to enhance the quality of life for the families they serve through comprehensive support. This includes:

• Providing food and healthcare to those in need.
• Promoting access to education, which is crucial for future opportunities.
• Offering livelihood development programs, such as farming and raising livestock, to ensure sustainability.
• Facilitating worship activities and offering Christian discipleship.

Vision

Elpida Ministries envisions becoming financially sustainable while ensuring its beneficiaries have access to a healthy diet, clean water, medical care, and education services. The goal also includes growing crops and livestock to support both food needs and generate revenue. The organization aims to maintain an adequate number of dedicated personnel to ensure its long-term success.

Operations

Abraham Kawuma, based in Uganda, oversees the daily operations, working closely with the families, teaching, and leading efforts to expand programs and services. Connor Murtha, based in the United States, contributes by leveraging his experience in real estate, construction, and military background, serving on the board of directors. He also participates in local church ministries.

Program Focus

• Education & Worship: Providing educational opportunities and facilitating worship services to foster spiritual growth.
• Livelihood Development: Training in skills such as farming, welding, and technical building to empower single mothers and children towards self-sustainability.
• Community Building: Striving to create sustainable communities rooted in Christian values.
