Poets and musicians in the schools and senior care facilities and Parade on Saturday of the week of the Gathering. The Gathering board and professional volunteers hold an annual contest in the schools for students to submit art and poetry work. Winners of those contests perform at the Gathering each fall with adult performers

Held in historic downtown Durango CO for 36 years cowboys cowgirls and folks from all walks of life converge to honor our western traditions through music poetry storytelling and magnificent horse events. Equally important is our commitment to promote respect understanding and camaraderie between our rural and urban communities.
