Our mission is to help kids grow up safe, healthy, and drug-free. We believe in the POWER of PREVENTION. Supporting parents to help kids grow up safe, healthy & drug free. Informed Families was founded in 1982 by concerned parents committed to creating a drug-free environment for their children. These citizens developed a drug prevention-through-education volunteer organization. IF works in primary prevention by involving the person, the family, and the environment in positive solutions and healthy alternatives. IF goal's are to educate parents, to educate youth, and to educate those in the community who have a decisive influence on young people about the rising use of drugs and alcohol by youngsters, the commercial and social pressures that encourage such behavior, and the social and psychological consequences of drug and alcohol use by youth. Informed Families provides services statewide in Florida.
