Big Dog Heaven is a place where abused, neglected, injured, or animals with special needs can get the help and love they need to live in happiness, and hopefully we can locate a forever family for them. Big Dog Heaven is a place where multiple species of animals with special needs can get the rehabilitation they need to move forward, heal, and hopefully locate their forever family. We strive to repair the damages, train, and locate forever homes, however, in the event an animal cannot recover, or has mental or physical inability, they are placed in our sanctuary program where they live at Big Dog Heaven and get the care they deserve until they pass over the rainbow bridge. We are not the typical shelter, we have several "free range" play yards, interior housing, and lots of decking for when we have the wheelchair babies....and hydrotherapy is done in the pool for those who come in with leg injuries. We are always striving to improve, build better, acquire more therapy tools, and educate the public on animal welfare and safety. This organization has also reached out to Cairo, Egypt and had 2 dogs with severe leg injuries that could not be treated there, flown here to Big Dog Heaven so we could have them assessed by an orthopedic veterinary specialist here in the Nashville, Tn area to receive any treatments suggested.
