Keep your animals till death do you part. Rehome your own animals responsibly. Unless you need a specific breed, adopt. Research a breed before you purchase. Check local rescues for specific breeds. Volunteer at a shelter before you find it's faults. Foster if you don't want to adopt. Donate to your local shelters first. Ask your employers to match your volunteer hours and donations.
