Please avoid Suds Run road near the Buckhannon Pike intersection due to multiple trees down across the road. Yesterday, Deputy Chief/EMS Director Nathan Rohrbough visited Nutter Fort Elementary School for their annual career day to speak with 5th grade students about becoming firefighters and emergency medical professionals. At 1714 hours, Truck 7 was requested authority of Chief 9 to assist Salem VFD and Salem EMS with an unusual rescue at Go Mart on Jacob’s Run Road in Salem. Truck 7 responded with 3 personnel in 2 minutes. A sign maintenance technician was working on the large display sign facing US Route 50 when his bucket truck experienced a mechanical issue leaving him stuck approx. 50-60 feet inside the sign. Truck 7 was set up and successfully assisted the individual down to safety who was uninjured. Truck 7 returned home at 1831 hours. (fb)
